Senator Pacheco appointed to Council of State Governments

Senator Marc Pacheco (D-Taunton) has been appointed to serve on the Council of State Governments as a member of the International Committee and of the Energy and Environment Policy Task Force for 2009 and 2010.

The Council of State Governments has served the nation’s state leaders by providing a forum for sharing ideas since 1933.  The International Committee’s mission is to interpret global trends and identify opportunities that provide state leaders with the tools, information and experience they need to operate effectively in the international arena. The Energy and Environment group provides a forum for state leaders to address emerging challenges and issues arising from dynamic energy and environment conditions in the United States.

 “I look forward to working with my colleagues on these important issues,” Pacheco said. “As these two panels reflect my particular interests and experience, I believe I will have a lot to contribute, as well as have an opportunity to learn a great deal.”
